Leftcry: You can't say that Australia wasn't a 'participant' as it's kinda obvious that they did compete. They really deserve to be on the map. Hshook (talk) 01:44, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- They competed as a guest, not as a full competitor. The EBU already announced that even if they won the contest, they would have to host it with another European country in Europe not in Australia itself. There isn't a point of putting them on the map because the contest isn't ever going to be held in Australia. --Leftcry (talk) 18:51, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

- He can provide sources confirming that for the 2015 contest, but not for future editions. Can you, with 100% certainty, confirm that Australia will never send another entry? It's unlikely, but possible. Yes I watch the news, I don't see how that has anything to do with it. Would you support removing Australia from the following:
- File:Eurovision semifinal qualification rate map.svg
- File:EurovisionParticipants.svg
- File:Eurovision participation map.svg
- File:Eurovision winners map.svg
- These all seem to suggest (confirm) that Australia, yes, did participate in Eurovision, and therefore should be included in this map. Guest status or not, Australia was a participant. Hshook (talk) 10:12, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- This map isn't just of the participants, but of those cities and countries which held a Eurovision contest. In 2015, the EBU has stated that even if Australia would win, they would still not be able to hold a contest in the country itself. You cannot make assumptions such as "you can't predict the future" - that argument can be used for almost any issue of such sort. We don't base our information on anyone's personal assumptions, but on actual sources and facts. To this day, the EBU has stated that a contest would never be held in Australia, and until they state otherwise there is absolutely no point of putting Australia on the map. --Leftcry (talk) 05:12, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- Using your logic, then equally, you can't assume that it will never happen in Australia. I would still like to hear your comments on the examples shown above, but more specifically these two:
- File:Eurovision semifinal qualification rate map.svg – Australia has never participated in a semifinal (as a competitor), so should they be removed from this map?
- File:Eurovision winners map.svg – Australia has never won the contest, so should they be removed from this map? Equally, should Greenland, Morocco and North Africa, Portugal, much of Central and Eastern Europe or Iceland be removed, because they have never hosted the contest?
- My argument is that since these maps include participants who are not affected by the data, then equally this map should include Australia. Hshook (talk) 08:20, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not just assuming that Australia's never going to host a contest, that is a statement made by the EBU. All of your shown examples are regarding participation of countries in the ESC and since Australia participated it should not be removed. Australia had a chance to win the contest so removing it would not be right. Same with central and Eastern Europe for this map, they had a chance to host the contest so they should not be removed. Australia never had a chance to host the contest, because even if they won they would still have to host the contest in a European city. --Leftcry (talk) 17:16, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
