Identification

[edit]

Hello. This mushroom cannot possibly be a Kuehneromyces mutabilis. Note that it is a very tiny mushroom, which makes for identification difficulties. The beautiful fine resolution shows up the mysterious woolly/fibrous texture on the cap top and stem, but perhaps that would be different if the mushroom were more developped. Underneath the cap top, a spongy yellow layer is visible. Surely a gilled mushroom couldn't show a layer like that? It must be a bolete. I think it must be a very young Xerocomus-type bolete (in the widest sense). Strobilomyces (talk) 18:40, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Identification updated after user:Ermell agreed on his talk page. Strobilomyces (talk) 16:24, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Ermell said that I could change the category and description here, but he then undid my changes - I don't understand why. Strobilomyces (talk) 15:28, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry this is an accident. I nominated the picture for FP and someone wanted to know the exact designation. I forgot that you already set it right. I'm going to undo that.--Ermell (talk) 19:24, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
