Dedicated to Pat Jennings organizer of the 1879 Sydney International Exhibition composed by W H Smith (biography uncertain) The name W H Smith can be traced to bands in Queensland and Tasmania but the composer performed and acted as secretary for the Sydney based 'Imperial Band' funded by Colonial governors with experienced players from each colony. After the 1879 exhibition he became the bandmaster. The name WH Smith correlates with New South Wales bands in Manilla, Wagga-wagga and Sydney.
