Species identification
[edit]@Javier martin: A species called Anthemis vulgaris does not exist (see the lists on top of the page Anthemis).
This means that the following images are practically useless, ultimately showing "unidentified Anthemis" or even "unidentified Asteraceae":
- File:Anthemis vulgaris ValleAlcudia 2013-4-14 SierraMadrona.jpg
- File:Anthemis vulgaris Habitat 2013-2-03 SierraMadrona.jpg
- File:Anthemis vulgaris Cabezuela 2013-2-03 SierraMadrona.jpg – Another user re-assigned this image to the category Matricaria chamomilla already, which indicates that he/she also saw the issue (but to me, this proposed correction does not look convincing).
Is this the entire series, or did I miss some additional image(s)? (For example, it would be nice to have one showing the leaves of this plant ...)
Did you mean to write a different name? Anthemis arvensis? Anacyclus-something? Chrysanthemum-something? Tripleurospermum maritimum? ........? -- Martinus KE (talk) 08:41, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I've moved all the three images to the "Unidentified Asteraceae" category. There is a big problem with a proper identification of species based only on photos - you cannot often determine what is the size of the object and obviously cannot check other aspects of a real plant. I'm pretty sure this set is not Matricaria chamomilla, what you can see e.g. compering the size of the whole plant with the size of the inflorescence on one of the photos. - @Nova: Thanks! – Back in 2020, I was kind of new to Commons and may have been a little too hesitant to do so myself.
- While moving files to "Unidentified" categories never is a nice solution, I believe it's the right one here, until an expert tells us more. – Thanks! -- Martinus KE (talk) 19:21, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
