English: Yuti is a tri-lingual magazine (English, Sinhala, Tamil) destined for young victims of the tsunami and also adolescents coming from underprivileged or war affected areas of Sri Lanka.
Yuti is an independent, non-ethnic, non-religious and non-political publication for children aged 8-14, with focus on general knowledge and local and international culture and customs as well as values and skills that promote tolerance and peaceful co-existence. Financed mainly with the aid of Solidarité Laïque (France), but also of Unicef, AusAID, Save the Children, Trocaire (Ireland) , GTZ (Germany), Handicap International, etc. Launched in September 2006, it was distributed free of charge. Yuti est une publication indépendante et neutre, sans affiliation religieuse, politique ou raciale. Elle propose aux enfants de huit à quatorze ans des sujets de culture générale, locale ou internationale et fait la promotion de la tolérance et de la cohabitation pacifique. Financé essentiellement par Solidarité Laïque (France), Yuti a aussi bénéficié du soutien de l’Unicef, de Save the Children, de Trocaire (Irlande), de GTZ (Coopération allemande), etc. Le magazine était distribué gratuitement. |
