Summary
[edit]DescriptionYou Sub Mod, a manifesto by Ebon Fisher for Nerve Circle, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 1988.tif |
English: You Sub Mod was an early manifesto by the information theater company, Nerve Circle. It was posted in 1988 along Bedford Avenue and other areas in Williamsburg, Brooklyn's industrial district. Written by Nerve Circle’s director, Ebon Fisher, it was one of the first instances in Williamsburg where immersion in the physical world was presented as an alternative to an alienated existential orientation. You Sub Mod proposed moving beyond both modernism and postmodernism to a “submodern" paradigm of immediate environmental engagement. The shift from a culture of interpretation to an ethic of nurturing one’s “tribes” and “burrows” is an early exploration of Immersionist principles.
Polski: You Sub Mod był wczesnym manifestem firmy zajmującej się teatrem informacyjnym Nerve Circle. Został on wywieszony w 1988 roku wzdłuż Bedford Avenue i innych obszarach Williamsburga, przemysłowej dzielnicy Brooklynu. You Sub Mod zaproponował wyjście poza modernizm i postmodernizm do „submodernistycznego” paradygmatu bezpośredniego zaangażowania w środowisko. Przejście od kultury interpretacji do etyki pielęgnowania własnych „plemion” i „nor” jest wczesną eksploracją zasad immersjonizmu. |
