Richd P Hunt
I presume you have before this concluded I had forgot your requesting me to make enquiries about the debt due you by James Mc Clein --- It is true I have neglected writting you though I have borne in mind your request Mr Phillips and two of James McCleins brothers that is Wm & Washington having been appointed assignees to dispose of his property for the benefit of his Creditors – They have commenced and sold part of his real property that is the part which is in this place – weather their sales will amount to a sufficient sum to pay your Judgement after paying the older Judgements I can’t say – if it should you would be agreeable to the terms of sale intittled to 25 pr ct Cash and the remainder in four months – you had better send down a power to recieve yours when collected – I remain your Friend William P. Lott”
