CO2 is produced in many places during the manufacture of clothing. Especially a lot with jeans, they are real globetrotters.

Summary

Description
Deutsch: In unseren Schränken stapeln sich Hosen, Shirts und Pullover.

Deutsche kaufen 40-70 Kleidungsstücke im Jahr. Unglaublich!

English: Pants, shirts and sweaters are stacked in our closets.

Germans buy 40-70 pieces of clothing a year. Unbelievable! CO2 is produced in many places during the manufacture of clothing. Especially a lot with jeans, they are real globetrotters. Because the cotton for the denim comes from warm countries like India or Kazakhstan. However, it is processed where labor is cheap: in Turkey, cotton is spun into yarn, in Taiwan, denim is made in weaving mills, in Tunisia, the fabric is dyed with dye from Poland, and in China, jeans are sewn. By the time you can buy them in Germany, a pair of jeans has often had to travel 50,000 kilometers or more. A lot of CO2 is produced during production and transport. On average 23.5 kilograms of CO2 per pair of jeans!

And if you wash the jeans at home and maybe even iron them, CO2 is produced again.
