Summary

[edit]
Description
English: White Nothe undercliff from the Smugglers Path, Dorset, England. The undercliff is a result of prehistoric landslips and it makes an excellent isolated habitat for wildlife. The only sensible access for people is along the top of the cliff and along the Smugglers Path which zig-zags down from the headland and follows the shore. The strata dip southwards here (from top left to bottom right) and the cliff face here is upper and middle chalk - although it only shows white where it is too steep for the grasses and scrub to colonise.
