English: Western entrance to Barrasford Quarry Tarmac operate the huge long-running Barrasford Quarry http://www.barrasford.net/quarry.htm as a source of roadstone. The quarry is a good source of whinstone (the stone of which much of Hadrian's Wall was built), and also of limestone. The main entrance to the quarry is from the A68 NY9376. |
