PASSING OF CAPTAIN VIRGIL PINKLEY, DC, USN (RET)

CAPT (ret) Virgil Alvin Pinkley, 87, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Edwardsville, IL. Dr. Pinkley was born on November 24, 1930 in San Bernardino, CA., the son of the late Alvin Pinkley, former Mayor and Founder of Costa Mesa, CA and Lucy Lucille, nee VonDrott, Pinkley.

Dr. Pinkley graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He went on to pursue a prosthodontics residency at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School and became a board certified prosthodontist and member of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Pinkley proudly served his country for 26 years, achieving the rank Captain in the United States Navy Dental Corps. He was an Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine prior to establishing a dental practice.
