PASSING OF RETIRED CAPT JEROME MCSWAIN, DC, USN
16 Sepember 1953 – 2 November 2015

A native of Pensacola, Florida, Captain McSwain enlisted in the Navy in 1973 and reported to Boot Camp at NTC Orlando. He then attended Dental Technician “A” School at Naval Station, San Diego in 1974. In 1974, DN McSwain served as a Dental Technician at Naval Hospital, San Diego until 1977. DT3 McSwain then entered the Naval Reserves where he served until 1987. During this time in the Reserves, he was promoted to DT1, and he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology at San Diego State University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University School of Dentistry. Captain McSwain served on active duty as a Navy Dental Officer from 1987 until he retired on June 30, 2013.
