Small wind-driven waves are being absorbed in a tidal creek.

Deutsch: Ein mäßiger westlicher Wind erzeugt kleine Wellen auf der Oberfläche eines flachen Priels. Die Wellen laufen ohne sichtbare Reflexion nach Osten hin aus. Die Energie wird wahrscheinlich vollständig vom weichem Boden sowie dem Bewuchs (z. B. Queller, englisches Schlickgras, Strandflieder) aufgenommen.
Man beachte vor allem, dass alle erkennbare Wellen von rechts nach links (West nach Ost) laufen, keine Welle läuft in die entgegengesetzte Richtung. In einem naheliegenden mit Holzwänden umfassten Wasserbecken war das anders: dort war das gesamte Wellenmuster durch Reflexionen unruhig. Die Aufnahmen zeigen einen Prile am seeseitigen Fuß des Deiches am Südrand des Flugplatzgeländes von Wangerooge.English: A westerly wind produces small waves on a shallow tidal creek. The waves are fully absorbed by the the plants and perhaps the soft ground on the shore of the creek. There are no waves running in the opposite direction, thus there appears to be no reflection of waves.
The film was created on the Frisian island of Wangerooge, near the air-field. |
