Dial of a Swiss telephone from the 1970's

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dial of a Swiss telephone from the 1970's, showing the then-current abbreviated dialing numbers for emergency and other services: 117 (police), 118 (fire), 112 (technical fault clearing service), and 111 (directory assistance). 112 has since become a general emergency number, 111 got discontinued. The six-digit number above the abbreviated dialing numbers was the user's telephone number (without the area code). Switzerland has since changed to seven-digit numbers and later to ten-digit numbers always including the former three-digit area code.
