Description
English: The narrow-gauge field locomotive made by the company Jung in the year 1936 originally served to carry freight in the airship yard of Luftschiffbau Schütte Lanz OHG in Ludwigshafen. Today it is used for visitor rides in the Bochum Railway Museum (Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia). The locomotive is powered by a 12 HP diesel motor and is able to pull a maximum weight of 12 tons.

The sounds of the narrow-gauge field locomotive are made by the diesel motor as well as the wheels rolling over the rails.
Narrow-gauge field locomotives are used for transporting agricultural, forestry and industrial resources like wood, turf, rock and clay. Since the mid 20th century they have become increasingly rare in the industry, because trucks and electric conveyor belts have replaced them in their function. They are mostly still employed where the space (coal mining) or the soil conditions (moor) prevent the possibility of the regular operation of other means of transport. Furthermore narrow-gauge engines in Germany are used in industrial peat cutting (especially in Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein), also occasionally in brickworks and other businesses.
