Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Backside of a postcard with the 11th place photo of Wiki Loves Monuments international 2023: File:The break water.jpg by Bonavia92/CC by-sa 4.0. See File:WLMint-postcardA6_TEMPLATE_FRONT.tif for a template for the front side.

This file is a template to help you create postcards like those in Category:Wiki Loves Monuments postcards 2023 - with images from Wiki Loves Monuments or in other contexts. There are some things to consider when re-using images found on Wikimedia Commons:

  • You have to pay attention to the license, if required you can include it like it is done in this template.
  • Most licenses also require that the creator's name is added visibly when using an image.
  • Also the image source usually has to be given. Instead of the full URL of the image on Wikimedia Commons I used the meta:URL Shortener for a shortened version.

Regarding the image and the file format:

  • This is a TIF file. You need software that's able to handle such files.
  • It uses layers so you can easily edit the different parts (texts, logo ...).
  • The font used is Montserrat.
  • One layer shows guidelines for printing, don't forget to delete this layer or make it invisible before sending the file to a printer.
  • It is a template for postcards of the size A6 (105 × 148 mm / 4.1 × 5.8 inches, see en:ISO 216 for details), but it is slightly larger to allow bleed that printers may ask for. You may need to adapt (crop) the image size according to your printer's requirements.
