ENGLISH TRANSLATION

[Mapudungun]

Hello all the people, my name is Hugo. I come from a town called Kupayapu, in the north of Chile, but now I came living in France, in Europe. I am not a Mapuche, I am Chilean, but even if I am not a Mapuche I ended up learning Mapudungun.

Since I’m not Mapuche people often come to ask me why I know how to speak Mapudungun. Then I usually answer: “Mapuche people, Chilean people, we have to do things well, we have to help each others as brothers and sisters, for our well being, in order to behave as good people”. In our blood we are all the same.

Chilean people don’t know Mapuche, they don’t know how to speak Mapudungun, they use to say “Mapudungun is not good, it’s useless”, but I don’t agree, they just speak in vain. If you know other languages, you will know other stories, other cultures, other traditions. Since I know other languages I came to meet many kinds of people, and lots of stories too. If you respect people, they will respect you back. It’s up to you to do things well.

I wish that we will live all in peace, like brothers and sisters. Lots of greetings, hope to see you again!

[Quechua]

Hey brothers and sisters, my name is Hugo. I come from Chile, but I have a lot of friends who come from Peru, so they teach me Quechua. This language called Quechua is very beautiful, and it is also called Runasimi. It is spoken in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia and even in Chile. Don’t be ashamed and let’s talk in Quechua Runasimi, for our well being. Have a nice day, bye!

TRADUCCION CASTELLANA

[Mapudungun]
