Français : La chapelle Sainte Jeanne-d'Arc de Wallis accueille une fête religieuse qui est l'occasion d'organiser un grand Katoaga.
Un Katoaga est un rassemblement coutumier à l'occasion duquel les Wallisiens procèdent à des échanges cérémoniels. De nombreux cochons sont préparés par les familles comme dons principaux faits aux dignitaires de l'île. Le Katoaga commence par une cérémonie religieuse, puis vient le traditionnel partage du Kava qui est distribué selon son rang, et enfin le rassemblement se conclut par le discours des responsables coutumiers pour finir par un repas pris en commun. |
