English: View west to the open middle section of the Soch Valley Before the Quaternary Ice Age, Afon Soch used to flow south across this plain (i.e. from right to left in this photo) to reach the sea at Hell's Mouth (Porth Neigwl). Glacial action led to its waters flowing west to form the present gorge. |
