Video of astronaut dummy in the store window of Moncler fashion shop in Prague, Czech Republic

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Video of an astronaut dummy in a shop window of a Moncler fashion shop in Prague, Czech Republic. While there is no direct hint or sign on the installation, film enthusiasts recognize that the installation is inspired by the famous science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) directed by Stanley Kubrick. Some of the movie themes used are the round shape of the frame with the leather segments, which is very similar to a structure in the spaceship Discovery in the film. Further, the dummy astronaut in the installation is kind of resting or lying, which is a frequent theme in the end part of the film, as well as the excessive use of light colours and white.

Richard Quinn, the designer of the company Moncler which owns the shop, stated in an interview: "I was really interested in the idea of what the future looked like in the past, especially in the 1960s. It was very 2001: a space odyssey-mood inspired."
A scene from the movie which has strong similarities to the window decoration can be seen, e.g., in this Youtube-Video with the title "4 Ways 2001: A Space Odyssey Was a Visual-Effects Pioneer" from about 0:20 min, or in this still image from the movie itself.
