Description
English: Trajectory of the air masses that affected Eastern North America of the en:North American ice storm of 1998 . They began their journey from the Arctic on December 31st, 1997, at 300 mb altitude, moved equatorward while coming down to the surface. They then picked up heat and moisture in the sub-tropical Atlantic before moving back to the Great Lakes on January 5th and 9th 1998.
Français : Trajectoire des parcelles d'air qui ont affectés la zone du Verglas massif de 1998. Celles-ci sont partie en altitude (environ 300 hPA) le 31 décembre 1998 depuis l'Arctique, se sont dirigées vers l'Équateur tout en s'abaissant vers le sol, ont amassée chaleur et humidité dans l'Atlantique sud-tropical et se sont finalement dirigées vers la région des Grands-Lacs le 5 janvier et le 9 janvier 1998.
