Description
English: Veduta del Isola di Procida

The eldest son of Dominic Serres, the artist, was, like his father, a marine painter and first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1789. In 1790 he travelled through France and Italy to Naples, which is close to Procida. This watercolour is signed 'Giovanni T Serres', a form he adopted following his return from Italy.
