Porträt Johanna Sidonie von Dieskau (1736-1820), geb. von Hardenberg, Hofdame der Herzogin Anna Dorothea von Kurland und des Herzogs August von Sachsen-Gotha und Altenburg. Sidonie ist als Fledermaus mit Porträtkopf dargestellt. Neben dem Titel "Frl. Diskau" und einem Vers unter dem Bild, ist der linke Rand der Zeichnung mit einem großen "F" (Bleistift) versehen. - nachträglich mit einem Kreuz hinter dem Titel/Namen versehen. [Bildunterschrift] Erschrecket nicht vor diesem Graus/ Es ist nur eine Fledermaus.Biografisches Johanna Sidonie Dorothea von Dieskau (1736–1820) war eine geborene von Hardenberg und Nichte des Hofmarschalls Georg Gottlieb Leberecht Freiherr von Hardenberg (1732–1822). Nach der Hochzeit mit Christian Gottlob von Dieskau (gest. 1778) nahm sie den Nachnahmen ihres Mannes an. (1) Sie galt als geistreiche Frau und unterhielt freundschaftliche Beziehungen zu Herzog August von Sachsen-Gotha und Altenburg. (2) Als Freundin und Hofdame der Herzogin von Kurland oder in Begleitung ihres Onkels, der die Geschäfte der Herzogin in Thüringen besorgte, weilte sie häufg in Löbichau. Später lebte Sidonie von Dieskau in Gera, wo sie 1820 starb. (3) „Ihm [dem Herzog von Gotha] zur Seite stand Fräulein Sidonie von Diesgau, eine Verwandte Schulenburgs, sie war des Herzogs Freundin und er trennte sich nie von ihr.
