| Description |
English: Union Canal Basin Redevelopment of the Union Canal basin at Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. The canal was built to link Edinburgh with the Forth and Clyde Canal at Falkirk. It opened in 1822 and conveyed goods, mainly coal, and passengers. The renewal of the basin was part of an extensive clean-up of the canal which now meets the Forth and Clyde at the Falkirk Wheel. |
