Français : Un sacrifice. Un prêtre accompagné de nombreux personnages des deux sexes, verse de l'huile dans le feu allumé sur un autel de sacrifice, tandis qu'il indique avec un doigt le passage d'un livre ouvert que soutient un enfant nu placé à ses côtés... Notes : Cette scène est censée représenter le sacrifice d'Iphigénie, mais d'après l'iconographie (un aigle qui enlève le coutelas), il pourrait aussi s'agir du sacrifice d'une jeune fille nommée Hélène, fait à Lacédémone pour apaiser les dieux à l'occasion d'une peste. 1er état.
