Assis passa "em revista" as músicas carnavalescas mais aceitas do ano: "Flauta de Bambu", "Pirulito", "Caiu o Pano da Cuíca", "A Pensão da Dona Estela", "Caramuru", "Eu Não Te Dou a Chupeta", "O Que Tem Iaiá", "Florisbela". "Quebra, Quebra Gabiroba" já vinha de 1930. "Uva de Caminhão" foi sugerida pela venda de uvas em caminhões no Largo da Carioca, presenciada por Assis e o jornalista Francisco Veiga, do alto do gabinete de prótese dentária de Assis.
