[edit]| Description | Lt. Cmdr. Jonathan Sumner is a Navy reservist who is also a surgical nurse at a level-1 trauma center in San Francisco. He has been in the reserves for almost 9 years and has done deployments aboard the naval hospital ship USNS Mercy, and tours in Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He volunteered to return to active duty and recently deployed to NYC to assist with a shortage of media staff combating COVID-19.
