Summary
[edit]DescriptionTwo-storey lookout post on top of White Nothe - geograph.org.uk - 266745.jpg |
English: Two-storey lookout post on top of White Nothe, Dorset, England. This must be the highest building on the Dorset Coast, a two-storey lookout on top of the White Nothe headland with views across Weymouth Bay to the Isle of Portland. It is similar in construction to other brick World War II military buildings on the coast. The lower room has a simple doorway (to the right) and a series of metal staples (now bent back) provide a ladder to the upper level. A very windy place to be on a clear day like this, and probably very unpleasant in poor weather conditions. |
