Immagine a falsi colori della Valle dei Re presa dal satellite Landsat7 della NASA.

Quest'immagine é orientata e si vedono nell'ordine da Nord a Sud

1. il massiccio della Valle dei Re, con il Monte a Piramide
2. le valli desertiche secondarie erose da torrenti stagionali
3. il territorio desertico del wadi che degrada verso Luxor

L'immagine é ripresa con un sistema laser ed è stata rimanipolata con un programma grafico, per renderla leggibile nei toni di grigio.
Da questa immagine si vede a colpo d'occhio, la zona della Valle dei Re, ingrandita alla sua massima risoluzione accettabile. E' possibile ingrandirla ulteriormente di 400-800 volte ma così incomincia a diventare un po' sfuocata, sebbene ancora leggibile. Per esempio, ho tentato di identificare la tomba di Tutankamen, non si vede proprio l'ingesso ma la strada che vi conduce si vede chiaramente.

Per avere un file di dimensioni accettabili si può rimanipolare il file. Dal file compresso gz scaricato, si estrae un file tif che si può guardare con Imaging di Window e salvare in formato bitmap, poi caricare il file.bmp su Paint di Window e risalvare in formato immagine jpg.
