Turner Hall, Madison, Wisconsin

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Turner Hall at 21–25 S. Butler Street in Madison, Wisconsin, replaced an earlier hall designed by August Kutzbock, which was built in 1868 and destroyed by fire in 1940. This Streamline Moderne building was designed by Henry Loeprich of the architectural firm Law, Law, and Potter and built in 1941. It was damaged by fire in 1990 and demolished in 1997. Since then, the site has served as a parking lot -- one that covers the entire city block. The Madison Turners have relocated to a new, larger facility at 3001 S. Stoughton Road. Additional information is provided by the Wisconsin Historical Society.
