Tuareg dwelling in the nomadic settlement of Tanarine

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Tanarine is a nomadic settlement of the Tuareg of the Kel Ajjer people in the Oued Samene, southern Algeria. On the left in the picture is the residential building with a thatched roof and a walled courtyard. The family sleeps in the courtyard when the weather permits. In the morning, the blankets and cloths are hung over the surrounding wall. Further back on the right are two storage huts of the family. The family does not live here permanently and the men in particular are often away with their camel herds, for example in the Isaouane-n-Irarraren.

This picture was taken in 1991. Current images from Google Earth (08-2024) show that there are even more zeribas in Tanarine. Some brick buildings have also been built, the school has been enlarged and now has a football field.
