English: Title: Tropicana, a glamorous nightclub in Havana, Cuba

Notes: This club puts on spectacular, colorful dancing and singing shows. The Tropicana nightclub opened in 1939 and evolved from a Depression-era bohemian club called Eden Concert. There are lush gardens surrounding the indoor stage. There is a seating capacity of 1,700. Some of the furniture was designed by Charles Eames.; Title, date, subject note, and keywords provided by the photographer.; Forms part of the Carol M. Highsmith Archive.; Credit line: The Carol M.
