English: In Igbo culture of Eastern Nigeria. When a tree is barren or a when a tree cannot retain its flowers or young fruit. Ọmụ ( young palm fronds) will be tied round the tree. Ọmụ is sacred in Igbo culture and it is believed that Ọmụ will heal the tree.
Image above showed a young mango tree, that is of age to bear fruits but didn't so according to tradition young palm fronds were to it. To heal it of its barreness
Igbo: N'ala Igbo, ana ekedo ọmụ na osisi ọbụla na amighi mkpụrụ. Ọmụ bụ ihe dị nsọ n'ala Igbo.
