Summary
[edit]DescriptionTrackbed of dismantled railway - geograph.org.uk - 1436700.jpg |
English: Trackbed of dismantled railway The trackbed formed part of a light railway that was built to carry coal from Tilmanstone Colliery to Dover's docks. It closed in 1930 when an aerial ropeway came into use to carry the coal. The view includes the coastguard station with the railway's marshalling yard below it (indicated where the hillside was cut away to create a near-perpendicular cliff)and the docks at Dover. |
