Summary
[edit]DescriptionTom Gill - geograph.org.uk - 883137.jpg |
English: Tom Gill. Tom Gill is the westward extension of Thieves Gill [see two other photos in this square], and is most likely part of the same glacial drainage channel. Despite recent wet weather there was no surface water on the west side of the road bridge, but plenty on the east side where strong springs produce a healthy stream. Any water that does run down Tom Gill now finds its way directly down to the dale bottom as the active little beck appears to have cut back into the original line of the glacial valley. |
