English: Time-lapse analysis of three-dimensional projections from ApoTome micrographs shows the three phases of morphogenesis. Short dextran-filled cells exhibit protrusive activity as they begin elongating. Elongating cells initially extend long protrusions that subsequently grow, resulting in the elongation of the cell. Green arrowheads denote extensions. Cells in the myotube formation phase are initially irregularly shaped but become rod shaped myotubes through time. |
