Thistles can be found all over the world. No part of a thistle is poisonous and some cultures use thistles in food including in Southern Italy and in India. Although any thistle can be eaten, some do not taste good. The depth of field in this photo was achieved by overlaying two images, one for the foreground and one for the background.
