English:

A dark reddish-brown leaf fossil on a pale tan stone. The stem of the leaf is twice as long as the leaf itself. The leaf has one deep lob one third of the way in on the right. It is possible to see the veins of the leaf.

This came from a tree related to living sassafras trees. Both trees produce leaves in three shapes, unlobed, two lobed like this one, and three lobed. The leaf is 41.9 cm. Catalog number FOBU10668.
