The genius of the evolution. Naturens luftskoter är inte science fiction, den fungerar! • Nytt släkte • Ny art • Ny spindel S. sp. • Ny ekologi • Ny princip för svävarflygning Till att börja med är den mängd spindelsilke som spindeln producerat närmast obegripligt stor 2-3 gånger spindelns egen volym. Det saknar motstycke i spindlarnas värld. Vid närmare analys visade det sig att spindeln förmår att styra "farkosten" med ett "styrsegel" osynligt för ögat därför att konstruktionen består av "osynlig" silkestråd: ett stegeformat litet specialnät bakom den stora klibbiga kulan/droppen. Styrseglet består av två kraftiga ledare eller "tömmar" om man så vill, med "stegpinnar" som på ett regelbundet avstånd från varandra förbinder de två ledarna så att konstruktionen liknar just en stege, långsmalt med många, många sådana där stegpinnar av tunt silke emellan. Det utgör en fladdrande struktur i vinden och ökar kulans lyftkraft. I bifogad vetenskapliga uppsats är detta "styrsegel" färgat med rött i Fig. 1 och Fig. 2. Styrseglet orsakar enligt artikeln en lyftande kraft som möjliggör för "farkosten" att hålla sig svävande. Spindeln har 8 ben och de är uppdelade på två olika funktionaliteter: dels att hålla sig fast vid kulan, dels för att med fyra ben styra den (med tömmar?). Den vetenskapliga uppsatsen förklarar "styrningen" i vertikalled. D.v.s. att kulan fritt kan höja sig, respektive sänka sig. Förklaringen sedan till hur kulan kan röra sig i horisontalled är enkel: spindeln kryper en bit längre fram (eller bakåt) på ankartråden och etablerar ett nytt sådant "styrsegel" där. Genom tyngdpunktsförändring påverkas kursen i sidled, likt den surfare eller skoterförare gör i farten.
