Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe new Schiehallion path - geograph.org.uk - 641807.jpg |
English: The new Schiehallion path The new John Muir Trust path to Schiehallion. Replaces the frankly idiotic previous popular route which went straight up a steep slope to the northwest, a poor route choice of the kind now seen on many other hills. This path however is a delight, moving gently up the ridge, before dumping you on to the boulderfields high on the hill.
Even if you do not fancy the long slog across slippery boulders to the summit, the walk to the path end is easy and gets you into a wild and high place and is a worthwhile objective in itself. Beware icy conditions as some of the path is pitched with smooth quartzite stones. |
