Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Prayer, 1831, marble, Jean-Louis Jaley (4).jpg |
English: The Prayer, 1831, marble, Jean-Louis Jaley. For his third-year projet as a student at the French Academy in Rome, Jaley executed this sculpture in marble, though the rules required aplaster work only. The graceful, fervent figure has a naturalness that was the new to Frech sculpture, which was beginning to break free the classical reference. |
