Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Point at Flint Marsh The eroded 'cliff' face at the point seems to be displaying rock strata, in fact it is various layers of dumped ash and other waste relating to industrial processes. There used to be a huge chemical works on the other side of the channel (just behind the point), which is shown on the 1878 O.S. map, and there was also a nearby mine shaft and a gas works. Rail lines are shown out onto the Flint marsh for the purpose of dumping the waste from all the various processes. The area now seems to be used for recreational purposes, but probably best to stay away from the strange coloured liquids seeping out of parts of the cliff face.
