Physical description: 1 photograph : digital, tiff file, color. Notes: Purchase; Carol M. Highsmith Photography, Inc.; 2015; (DLC/PP-2015:055).; The church was built in the Coal Camp of Pemberton, West Virginia, in 1921 by coal baron Thomas Hurst Wickham as a gift. This church, and others like it, were the center of coal camp communities. Not only did miners and their families worship there, but social and business meetings convened as well.
