Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) is the only state-based surveillance system that collects and links data from multiple sources on the entire violent incident into one anonymous database, providing context about victims and suspects; their relationships; preceding circumstances; and weapons used, among other variables. Such data are far more comprehensive than what is available elsewhere. NVDRS data can help state and local health departments, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and others inform prevention measures that are most relevant and likely to be effective in their communities.
