Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Cut at Osbornelane Bridge, Newell Green - geograph.org.uk - 1212987.jpg |
English: The Cut at Osbornelane Bridge, Newell Green The Cut rises to the north-east of Bracknell, flows south-west here, then west, then north, then east to join the River Thames near Bray. Here it flows under Osbornelane Bridge, unsurprisingly on Osborne Lane. The water level on the gauge board, to the right of the arch, was reading 51.75 metres above sea lavel. Also visible inside the arch is a large diameter service pipe crossing. In a flood event this type of feature can impose a severe restriction to water flow, particularly when debris brought down by the flood catches on it, makes the restriction even larger, and catches more debris, and so on. |
