Description
English: Ebola virus spike distribution. This movie shows one surface of a cryo-electron tomogram of an Ebola virus-like particle, generated by expressing the VP40 and GP proteins. The structure rotates showing the distribution of spikes. The locations of individual spikes are identified by white spheres, and the reconstruction is replaced by a cylinder to show the patchy distribution of spikes on the surface of the virus-like particle.
