| Description |
Deutsch: Etwa 3 km westlich von Thalmassing im Landkreis Regensburg liegt der Ort Weillohe. Knapp 100 Meter weiter an der Untermassinger Straße steht ein sogenannter Aussichtsstein. Auf einem quadratischen, abgetreppten Sockel steht der sich nach oben verjüngende Pfeiler mit vorkragender Deckplatte aus Sandstein. Das Denkmal entspricht dem spätklassizistischen Stil und ist unterhalb der Platte mit der Jahreszahl 1873 bezeichnet.
An den vier Ecken der Deckplatte sind Erhebungen zu erkennen, die aussehen, als wäre etwas abgebrochen. Da der Stein in den Landkarten auch als Flurkreuz eingezeichnet ist, ist anzunehmen, dass darauf früher ein Aufbau mit einem Kreuz befestigt war. Die Beschriftung an der Säule lautet: Errichtet von der Gemeinde Weillohe Von hier auf einer Höhe von 422 Metern wird ein gemeinsamer Blickpunkt nordöstlich zur 18 km entfernten Walhalla und südwestlich zur 30 km entfernten Befreiungshalle in Kelheim in Aussicht gestellt.. Stellt man sich mit dem Rücken zur Aufschrift WALHALLA, kann man den Ruhmestempel mit bloßem Auge am Nordhang des Donauufers bei Donaustauf erkennen. Die Befreiungshalle in der anderen Richtung war nicht zu finden, da die Bäume so hoch gewachsen sind. |
