Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Tatenhill Airfield near Needwood, Staffordshire. Tatenhill Airfield was opened in the War by the RAF as a training base and closed to military flying not long after hostilities ceased. Today it is in private hands and very well used by light aircraft. The sign states that the airfield is out of bounds to the public and also warns about the potential dangers of an active aerodrome. The light aircraft in the distance are parked on a former runway, next to a hangar. Although Tatenhill Airfield is in the parish of Tatenhill, its main hangar and buildings are three miles WNW of the village of Tatenhill and are actually closer to the hamlet of Needwood. The land the airfield is built on is owned by The Duchy of Lancaster (HM The Queen).
