English: In this short edition, we hear a speech given 1-30-2010 at the New England Antiwar Conference, held at MIT. The speaker is none other than our very own and very special sometime producer, Salma Abu Ayyash. The subject today is the so-called War On Terror, a hypocritical term used by our corrupt politicians to divert attention away from their own programs of continuing abject state terror. As the MC points out in the course of introducing Salma to the audience, the so-called War On Terror is being used as a smokescreen to justify the expansion of US wars and occupation, to curtail civil liberties, to promote the racist scapegoating of Arabs and Muslims both here and abroad, and to drain resources needed for domestic social programs including health care, jobs, education, and the environment. Salma relates all this to the catastrophe of the creation of the state of Israel and partitioning of Palestinian land. Israel's terrorist acts against Palestinians began almost immediately and have grown more and more shocking over the years. Even more shocking is the U.S. government's support and complicity. |

Additional Notes | This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is (normally) a three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization, and now bombing, devastation, imprisonment, and murder, of their homeland, thanks in part to U.S. taxpayer funding. It's part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming (and also archived for two weeks) at wzbc.org. Our website, truthandjusticeradio.org, links to audio archives of 2008/2009 editions of This Week In Palestine; even more editions are obtainable at the URL "tinyurl.com/twiplist2" which links to our postings on radio4all.net. The most important message we repeat is that all caring humans must GET INVOLVED! |
