  • Significance: The Sutherland Barn is an early 19th-century structure with many special features: splayed windows, Flemish bond brickwork on south side, and a wood truss with hand hewn beams and mortise and tenon joints. / This English three bay brick barn belongs to a farm bought by the Southerland family in 1835. The barn was built between 1790 and 1820. One of the most interesting features of the barn is the elaborate brick work of Flemish bond with glazed headers on the south side. Other features include splayed windows and a wood truss of hand hewn logs and mortise and tenon joints. The barn in the past as well as today is used for storage.
